Cristina + Arnaud | Timisoara, Romania
I’m always excited when I get to document “international” weddings in Romania – Romanians getting married to non-Romanians, or couples who live abroad and decide to get married at home. Maybe it’s because of my own time spent abroad, but I’ve always felt I resonate well with my Romanian/international couples, and Cristina & Arnaud are no exception.
Cristina and Arnaud had their civil registration in France and decided to organise their wedding in Timisoara, at Hotel Tresor. I got to know them a bit through the e-mails we exchanged before the wedding (and through the very useful wedding website they had set up for their guests), but we met for the first time the day before, when I documented her niece’s christening (Olivia, here) . With her sister christening her daughter on Saturday and Cristina getting married on Sunday, this was quite the family week-end :)
Self-proclaimed numbers geeks, Cristina and Arnaud added many personal touches to their wedding day, including a very awesome seating plan made from poker cards and string. Their French friends also contributed to making the evening special with fun little moments, speeches, embarrassing pictures from long ago and, by no means least, lots of dancing.
After the wedding, Cristina, Arnaud and a bus-load of French people went on a tour of the country, so we met up in Sibiu for a quick post-wedding photo shoot.
Cristina, Arnaud, thank you for having me there on your big day! Enjoy the photos and A+ :)
“Even though I wasn’t really very stressed about photography before the wedding, when I received the first e-mail from Vlad, with the long list of questions, I was very pleasantly surprised and reassured in a way. I thought to myself: awesome, this is someone who knows exactly what he wants, what he needs to know and takes his job seriously. I have organised my wedding from a distance and worked with other vendors on this, but I cannot even compare Vlad’s services to anyone else. I loved everything about our work together, but if I had to pick one thing, it would be his attitude during the wedding day: he was very discreet and positive, sending good vibes. I would highly recommend him to my closest friends. Vlad is an exceptional photographer, simple and effective. Before the wedding he can guide and advise you on any detail of the wedding, not just photography and during the wedding he is unobtrusive, sociable and joyful. It felt like he was part of the family, and only after the wedding you realise how well he captured those really special moments, that not even video can capture so vividly. Thank you for the wonderful memories you gave us!”
