Wedding in Normandy, France
I’m very excited because this was definitely not a typical wedding and I don’t often get the opportunity to share weddings like this. The wedding took place earlier this year in Northern France – a gorgeous multi-day wedding, with an insane 1001 Nights-themed costume party on the first day and a lovely ceremony in a 15th century church on the second day.
Several hundred guests joined the celebrations – it was definitely one of the most impressive (and hard) weddings I documented. Weddings of this magnitude come with their own set of challenges for the photographers and staff and also, obviously, for the couple: tight schedules, many people to see and things to do, little time for the couple to enjoy each other, not to mention the logistics needed to make a wedding like this work and basically no margin for error. It’s about communication and planning as much as photography. I was in constant touch with the planning team (and my mind hurts just thinking of the job THEY have to do), there were plans B for everything, the running order was detailed to the minute, we all tried to NOT get in each other’s photos (that’s a thing when you have multiples photographers), had to download and back-up as fast as possible etc. This is why it’s so rewarding when everything works out and why I’m so excited to share these images.
There is no way I could have done this by myself, so I’m very grateful that Razvan Danaila and Horia Calaceanu put up with me during my stressed out moments and for doing such an awesome job (if you like any of the photos below, chances are, they’re theirs :) ).
