Oana + Roberto | Timisoara, Romania
At a first glance, Oana and Roberto seem like a normal couple. Don’t let that fool you though, for they have a secret super power: they’re both tango dancers. They put on an amazing performance for their first dance (complete with an encore) and the party was one of the most insane I’d seen in a while. Surrounded by many friends, they busted moves and kept the dance floor packed for the entire night. Credit for the atmosphere also goes to Phaser who were on fire.
For me, Oana and Roberto’s wedding was another reminder about weddings and expectations. I always make a conscious effort to leave expectations at home and not assume anything when shooting a wedding. It’s the only way I found to leave myself open to the surprises of the day. Well, in their case, nothing could have predicted the madness – the day started off quietly, with Oana and Roberto getting ready alone together. It was quite cold, cloudy and gloomy. During the very short photo session, my biggest concern was Oana catching a cold. And yet… awesome party ensued. So yeah, note to self: never assume things.
Oana, Roberto, thank you for trusting me!
“Vlad Lodoaba…if you look at his Facebook profile photo, you might think “What a cool shot! Surely he must also be a good photographer! Will we get along with him, or is he one of those photographers who consider themselves too important to talk to you?” When you get to meet him, you find a modest man, with a warm voice and a lot of patience.
Last year, we decided to get married. :) Robi is very romantic, I’m a bit more cynical about the whole institution of marriage. Don’t get me wrong, we both knew we wanted to spend our lives together, but the piece of paper is not that important to me. Vlad surprised us with his imagination and ability to capture emotions. He’s not intrusive, and at the same time he’s everywhere, throughout the entire wedding. He’s attentive to details about communication, he promptly answered all of our questions from the get-go. He offered advice, he delivered within the deadline and the albums look impeccable.”
