Connie + Sebastien | Bucharest, Romania
There is one word that comes to mind when I think of Connie, and that’s sprezzatura – “a certain nonchalance, so as to conceal all art and make whatever one does or says appear to be without effort and almost without any thought about it”. I know Connie was a bit nervous before her civil registration (because she told me) and I know she was a bit nervous before the wedding (because her sister told me). Even so, none of that came across – surrounded by light-hearted friends, she was perfectly graceful and enjoyed her wedding day as a true celebration of love. One could see, from the glances and subtle gestures between her and Sebastien, how smitten they both were with each other.
Connie and Sebastien didn’t want any posed photos on their wedding day. It doesn’t often happen that a couple gives me so much unconditional trust, but when they do, and when they offer me so much in terms of pure emotion and energy, when so much happens naturally (at some point everyone gathered around the piano for a sing-along, just because), then I truly feel like I have the best job in the world.
I have to be entirely honest – I didn’t get a chance to meet them at all before the wedding and I was a bit nervous about that. Would they be as nice as they seemed? Would they truly be happy with 100% photojournalism? Is this too good to be true? Things couldn’t have turned out better and I’m very grateful for all the help and support I got from the team at Maison Dadoo. Apart from making the wedding look and feel gorgeous, I felt that they had my back (they had everyone’s back) and I’m very happy I got to work so closely with them.
